NEWS RELEASE: Then CSU chief Saguiguit’s interment set on Sunday By ISAGANI P. PALMA MALUNGON, Sarangani – The late Arturo ‘Art’ Saguiguit, this towns former Civil Security Unit chief who recently passed away due to serious illness, will be laid to rest on Sunday (December 28) at a Constantino-owned memorial site in Brgy. Nagpan, here in this municipality. “Kuya or Manong Art,” as to how the departed is being called by caring kin and intimate friends, is the loving husband of former Sarangani SP member Eleanor Constantino-Saguiguit, and brother-in-law of Malungon town Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino. Amid a wake visit, Eleanor said Saguiguit was declared gone by hospital authorities on December 16. A gently lobbed bombshell that figuratively smashed into pieces, every ones lingering hope of a miraculous recovery. A painful truth that ended Art’s 35-day uphill battle against a more dominant, stage-4 Renal Cell cancer, she said. The RCC illness or otherwise called as kidney cancer or adenocarcinma, is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells are found in the lining of tubules (or very small tubes) in the kidney. “Actually despite the pain of loss, I have sensed a splendor of lasting peace and calmness that gently swathes my husband’s face. An indicative aura of relief and contentment, as he regained absolute freedom from the talons of the killer illness - to join the goodness of our dear Lord in heavens,” said the wife Eleanor, who also spoke about how her husband spent his last few remaining days in life through sincere prayers and of consistently stretched visit to talk and ask for forgiveness to Jesus in a nearby seated sanatorium chapel. She said the interment will commence at around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, right from the wake sight of the Constantino ancestral home in Brgy. Malandag, toward the adjacently located family cemetery in Brgy. Nagpan. Prior to Arts previous assignment as overseer of the Constantino-escort security group and the local gov’t CSU personnel in 2007-2010, Saguiguit has been employed as municipal secretary of Malungon LGU (now SB) in 1978-1986. After exchanging vows with Constantinos daughter Eleanor, Saguiguit who was then a supposed relative of the Marcoses in Luzon. decided to relinquish from a gov’t-tasked calling, to serve the administration of his father-in-law, the late Felipe K. Constantino, who was the then incumbent municipal mayor of the only landlocked town in Sarangani Province. Quitting the gov’t in 1986 (lifting of martial law), Saguiguit took time in attending a family-run small business, until such time he renewed for reinstatement in public service to head the local govt security unit, under the strong recommendation of newly assumed chief executive (now on his last and final term) Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino, (MALUNGON INFORMATION OFFICE)
