NEWS: SUNDAY EIHL SCOTS ROUND-UP KEVIN REGAN was the hero for Fife Flyers as they came from behind to beat Edinburgh Capitals 2-1 after penalty shots. Fife hit the bar twice during a high tempo first period, with Bobby Chaumont and Chris Auger both going close in the opening session. Edinburgh had plenty of joy hitting the Flyers on the counter and it paid off when Jade Portwood fired his shot to take the lead. Bobby Chaumonts goal took the game to overtime then penalty shots, where netminder Regan in goal saved from Greg Collins to clinch the win. Meanwhile, Braehead Clan ended their eight-game away run of games with a defeat, losing 3-2 at Coventry Blaze. Braehead were two down in the first period when Jereme Tendler found the net in the opening couple of minutes, with Derek Lee adding a second shortly after. The Glasgow side fought back with a goal from Derek Roehl, but Tendler restored Coventrys two-goal advantage. Roehl nabbed his second of the night early in the third as Clan attempted a fightback, but the Blaze hung on for the points. Elsewhere, Dundee Stars ended their weekend on a high, with a 5-2 over Hull Stingrays. Hull saw a golden chance to go ahead when Zach Hervato was awarded a penalty shot, but Dundee goalie Marc Cheverie made the save to keep it blank. Cory Tanaka saw his opener for Hull cancelled out by Brad Plumton, Bari McKenzie doing the same after Carl Lauzon scored, making it 2-2. Dundee pulled clear in the final period when Chris Blight, John Dolan and Rob Ricci all scored to clinch the points for Jeff Hutchins men.
