NEWS UPDATE AT 12 PM WITH ORANGE Teachers in KCCA schools have threatened lay down their tools and join health workers who are currently in a sit down strike demanding for their delayed salaries. The teachers who are now engaged in a meeting with KCCA officials at City hall to solve the impasse allege that they have spent three month without salary. This as health workers continues with their sit down strike across KCCA health facilities. At Kisenyi health center IV, workers have opted to sit in groups while patients are stranded. The situation is no different from Kawaala and Kiswa health centers. Kcca had promised to clear off salary balances by yesterday but failed to walk the talk. Three students of Mbale comprehensive school have perished in an inferno that gutted the boy’s dormitory. The trio is said to have remained in the dormitory as they were recuperating from an illness when fire broke out. Former FDC president Dr Kizza Besigye has described the NRM-dominated Ugandan Parliament as a spiritless institution which only plays to the tune of President Museveni.
