NEWS UPDATE AT 8AM WITH ORANGE The 2016 presidential elections may be extended after president Museveni concurred with the opposition that the electoral system has collapsed and needs reforms for free and fair elections. Commenting about the recently concluded NRM woman Member of Parliament by-election where NRM lost to DP, President Museveni attributed the disturbing defeat to the electoral commission which he blamed for conniving with Opposition politicians to rig the ruling NRM party out of polls. Museveni says that lack of integrity of the election officials; loyalty and vigilance of the candidate agents have rendered the process null and void. The opposition has been traversing the country calling upon the electorate to demand for electoral reforms which include among others disbandment of the electoral commission which they have always accused of working for the ruling party.
