NEWS UPDATES AT 12 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE. Uganda police has this morning officially opened its garments factory in Uganda. The factory will be making garments for police officers and other government departments. The factory will be located next to the police mechanical workshop at plot 66/68 Jinja Road. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) caucus has resolved that to run for presidency on the party ticket, one is required to pay UGX20m to party treasury and UGX3m for parliamentary seat. This was resolution was reached in yesterday’s NRM caucus meeting at state house Entebbe. South African opposition party leader Julius Malema is due to go on trial to face corruption charges. A former African National Congress (ANC) youth Leader, Malema is himself known for campaigning against corruption and focusing on South Africas black poor. 33 year old Malema, who was expelled from the governing ANC, is accused of fraud, money-laundering and racketeering. He denies the allegations, which he says are politically motivated. Mr Malema is accused of receiving some $392,000 (£240,000) from corrupt activities involving government deals.
