NEWS UPDATES AT 8 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE The Uganda revenue authority in a bid to meet its target of 8.5 trillion shillings in the financial year 2013/14, has released a list of 178 top tax defaulters to coarse them clear their outstanding or risk being taken to court in a week’s time. The tax defaulters have a total tax liability of 26billion shillings as the body battles shortages of 300billion shillings. Among the defaulters are steel Rolling Mills ltd, Linksoft Communication Systems Uganda Ltd and Akright Projects Ltd. A gunman who opened fire at Seattle Pacific University, yesterday killing one person and wounding two is now in police custody. Police Capt. Chris Fowler says that the gunman was reloading a shotgun when a student, working as a building monitor, used pepper spray and knocked him down. Authorities are withholding his name until he is formally charged. They believe he acted alone, but the investigation is going on.
