More than 70 residents of Naalya –Kireka ward, in Kira Town Council have sued NEMA for allowing the construction of a Fuel station, a market and school, in their area which they claim exposes them to a high risk of fire outbreaks. They accuse NEMA of neglecting its statutory role of protecting the environment and its users by permitting the construction of too many Fuel stations in the city without a proper planning. 6.4million shillings meant for procurement of beds for Lyantonde hospital has been stolen and now Lyantonde District chairperson Fred Muhangi wants top health official arrested.
