NEWS: Urban music coming from Colombia is gaining steam. Following the breakout success of J Balvin in 2014, another Colombian artist on the rise, Reykon El Lider, has signed a major label deal with WARNER MUSIC LATINA, according to Billboard. Reykon, real name Andres Felipe Robledo, will release two singles, looking toward an album release later this year. The first track, titled #Imaginandote, (Imagining You), is slated to go to radio this month. It features Reykons pal Daddy Yankee, whom he recorded with in 2007. Reykon has also previously recorded with the likes of Yandel, Farruko and J. Balvin. Reykon, whose career to this point has been indie, has yet to score a major U.S. radio hit; his only charting single was last years #Secretos, which reached No. 8 on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart. But hes had major hits in Colombia and has huge social traction, with 5.5 million likes on Facebook, 1.1 million Twitter followers and 589,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel. The official video for #Secretos has notched 37 million views: https://youtube/watch?v=ZFwpzIz8eWE#t=175 Although very different vocally, like J Balvin, Reykons reggaetón is more romantic-minded and highly melodic. Reykon is managed by Edgar Andino, who formerly handled Wisin & Yandel.
