NEWSFLASH Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi NFF shops for Keshi’s replacement– Punch There are very strong indications that Stephen Keshi will not continue as the Super Eagles coach, on interim or permanent basis, after the match against Sudan in Abuja on Wednesday. The PUNCH learnt that three factors have contributed largely to his continued stay as the Nigeria coach despite the humiliating 1-0 loss to Sudan on Saturday. The decision by the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, to hold far reaching discussions with his members; the need to also brief higher authorities and the search for a quality replacement have combined to keep Keshi on the driving seat going into the reverse match against Sudan billed for Wednesday. Our correspondent learnt on Monday that Keshi could be asked to step aside after the Wednesday match. A former Sunshine Stars goalkeeper coach, Segun Oguns told SuperSport Keshi should be dropped instantly. Oguns said another coach other than Keshi could comfortably qualify Nigeria for the biennial event in Morocco by going ahead to win Sudan on Wednesday as well as the other two games against South Africa and Congo. Police spokesperson Mrs Olabisi Clet-Ilobanofor said the officer died gallantly because he was not on duty when he saw the fire and went to rescue people. CBN jacks up limit on int’l money transfer- Daily Independent The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reviewed upward the allowable limit of outbound money transfer per transaction to $5, 000 from $2, 000 announced by the CBN on September 26. CBN Director, Trade and Exchange Department, Olakanmi Gbadamosi, disclosed this in a circular to authorised dealers dated October 3. Gbadamosi, however, pointed out that “this service is only applicable to person-to-person transfer”, stressing that “for avoidance of doubt, corporate entitles are not allowed to use this product”. The CBN had on September 26 reviewed the guidelines on international monetary transfer services to accommodate inbound as well as the outbound money transfer services that was introduced recently. The deceased popularly called Oyoms, according to a statement issued by the family, was found dead on the stairways at his residence. Sources close to the family said there were reports that he was allegedly involved in an argument at a nightclub and might have been trailed to his house where he was killed. A family source hinted that Alamieyeseigha had demanded for an explanation on how his son died.
