NEWSLETTER FROM NW NETBALL TROPHIES Please return all Trophies as soon as possible. Junior Trophies should be provided this weekend and Senior Trophies should be returned no later than Saturday 10 August 2013. Award Nominations Please find attached nomination forms for Junior and Senior awards along with a list of awards and the associated criteria. Please place your nomination in the box provided at control this Saturday. JUNIOR PRIZEGIVING Prizegiving will be held following the last game on the 10th August 2013 at the Dargaville High School Gym. SENIOR PRIZEGIVING Senior Prizegiving will be held following the last game on the 17th of August 2013 in the Dargaville High School Hall. We have a share afternoon tea following prizegiving. Teams are asked to bring two plates to share. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS Congratulations to all those selected for our representative teams this season. A good turnout of talented players gave our selectors a very difficult job. First tournament is this weekend in Whangarei. If you’re in Whangarei and would like to pop in and support our teams games start at 9.00am UMPIRES Congratulations to all those that obtained their Centre Theory pass and those that have obtained their Centre Badge. The newly qualified Centre Badge Umpires are Ashleigh Ashford, Darlene Lang, Jessica McKenzie, Keely Paul, Kylie Van der Putte and Megan Topia. It’s great to see so many wanting to further their knowledge and continually improve. COMMUNITY COACH AWARD We have several coaches working towards their community coach award. Six of those working towards the award have completed their modules. Well done to kyla Johnson, Maree Chapman, Moana Edwards, Rachel Ashford, Robyn Arthur Aloua and Simone Mathews. Darlene Lang – Netball Northern Zone Netball Development Officer Congratulations to Darlene Lang who is the new Rangimarie Netball Club Development Officer for Northland. This role concentrates on player, coach and umpire development and will work alongside others to grow and sustain participation, and improve both the capacity and the capability of grassroots netball. Darlene can be contacted on 021 259 6259. TOHEROA TOURNAMENT The Toheroa Tournament will be held on the 14th September 2013. Entries will be open shortly. DUTY MANAGERS Duty Managers are available at both the Intermediate and High School Courts. The duty managers are there to help. Please don’t hesitate to approach the duty manager if you have any queries, concerns or compliments. HERALD ON SUNDAYS-McCafé Sideline Champs Awards We are participating in the Herald on Sunday-McCafe Sideline Champ Awards. This has been established to recognise:- 1. Supporters who are positive in cheering grassroots games. 2. Supporters who put themselves on the line to deal constructively with the poor behaviour of others. 3. Supporters who go beyond the call of duty in boosting their team(s).
