As you may have read, our good friends the 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh have now left the Dale Barracks, and moved to Tidworth Barracks on Salisbury Plain. In their place, we are delighted to welcome the 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment. On Tuesday this week we are very honoured to have their Commanding Officer, Colonel Paul Gilby, and some of his team coming here for lunch, to discuss ways we at St Werburghs can all support Our Regiment while they are with us at the Dale. Welcome, Mercians! Next weekend: four weddings but no... Diocesan Mass to celebrate grandparents Saturday 18th October at Our Lady and the Apostles Church, Stockport SK3 8BQ. The Mass is at 2.00 pm and it would be wonderful to see as many grandparents and families as possible gathering to celebrate either their own vocation as grandparents, or praying for their grandparents. All welcome; theres tea/coffee and cake after the celebration of Holy Mass. Ceremonial re-opening of Grosvenor Park Following its very extensive refurbishment, the Park is to be officially reopened by His Grace the Duke of Westminster on Monday 28th July. We have been sent five tickets, and Ive given the other four to Gerry, Bernice, Syd and Denise, to help me represent St Werburghs on this day.
