NEXT MEMBERS WORKING PARTY - Saturday May 17 This time - TopicsExpress

NEXT MEMBERS WORKING PARTY - Saturday May 17 This time volunteers have a choice to either to work on our rolling stock or our track and Signal Box infrastructure. Brett Honer has also offered to do one of his famous lunches for us on the Saturday as well. Scope of work: Due to a large fallen tree, flood damage (mainly sediment), weed growth and bushfire damage, the signal pull wires and point rodding have become very restricted in their movement which has place strain on the Signal Box levers. We need to free up the wires and rodding by clearing branches, sediment, weeds and ballast from the operating parts of the point and signal mechanisms. We also need to protect the surviving low voltage signal wires and remove the fire damaged electrical wires to enable repairs to be effected. So, whether you would like to be involved in either helping to restore our signal box infrastructure or be involved in new construction, or be involved in rolling stock restoration, this day offers multiple choices. For anyone who would like to attend for this track work, but are still have not been certified for Track Awareness, please let me know ASAP and I will check to see if we can arrange some additional tuition and assessment on the day. For members of the Zig Zag Railway to become in any way involved with working on the railway in just about any capacity, this is the most fundamental of all certifications required. It is the building block upon which all other certifications upon our railway are based. In addition, a workshop induction should also be available on the day as well. If you know of any members who have not received this notification, please let me know what their email address is and I will update my file. Please let me (or Chris) know if you any of you intend to attend either our track and signal infrastructure work or rolling stock work on the Saturday, of jut Chris rolling stock work on the Sunday. For Rolling stock work please include a response to Chris Eagle [email protected] David Honer Site Co-ordinator; Email: [email protected] (anytime) SMS/Text: 0408 294023 (any time between 7am and 11pm ) Phone: 0408 294023 (after 6pm and before 11pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday)
