NFP on its own THE National Federation Party has clarified its not working with any other political party for the September general election. Party president Raman Pratap Singh said they had been part of the United Front for Democratic Fiji for the sole purpose of ensuring genuine democracy in Fiji and nothing else. This is not a new trend as, historically, and even currently throughout the world, political parties have co-operated on national issues and common values that are universal, Mr Singh said, adding the NFP would contest the polls on its own. We have not and will not form a coalition with the Fiji Labour Party, Social Democratic Liberal Party, the Peoples Democratic Party or any other party yet to be hatched, for the purpose of contesting the general elections. Mr Singh earlier highlighted that NFP, in its manifesto, would mainly focus on economic development. He said the manifesto was nearing completion and would be released at the partys AGM. Mr Singh said the manifesto would focus on welfare issues affecting the citizens, adding the focus would also cover current land issues affecting land owners and education.
