NH of course means Northern Hemisphere. Part of the discussion was whether atmospheric events would cause the winter severity to impact worse in North America or in Russia and Europe. If the sun spot count by the Laymans method of counting does reduce around mid November it will be a pretty good clue that they have this nailed pretty good. Quieter sun means colder climate because a weaker heliosphere allows more cosmic rays in to make clouds denser and less of the reduced sunlight gets down to the ground. In effect, solar output changes are leveraged because of interaction with cosmic rays. These guys are the REAL scientists, and one of them calls himself an Astrologer. These are such strange times.
