NHC is issuing advisories on newly formed Tropical Storm Bertha. Its centered over the Atlantic Ocean about 170 miles east of Barbados, with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as St. Lucia, Barbados, Dominica and the British Virgin Islands. The center of Bertha is expected to pass near or north of Barbados this afternoon, then move through the Central Antilles tonight and over the northeastern Caribbean Sea on Saturday. No significant change in strength is expected during the next 48 hours.
