NHL: The Tampa Bay Lightning have bought out the contract of their captain Vincent Lecavalier, sending him into free agency. The move will cost the organization (run by GM Steve Yzerman) around 32 million dollars total, with over 7 million in savings next season. Lecavalier played with the Lightning for 14 years. The 4-time All Star leads the franchise with goals scored and games played. My guess is that he will most likely find a team in FA with pretty good pay still. He is getting older, but he still can produce for any team. He would be a perfect second or third liner, and would be a huge asset to any Power Play.
