NIGERIA AT 53: IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT “If I were the Nigerian president, I would spend the rest of the day reflecting on how deep my nation has sunk on the rungs of world ladder. In place of reveling over goose egg ‘accomplishments,’ in a country that lacks consistent electricity, I would retreat into the depth of repentance. Rather than squandering the resources of a nation whose youths have lost their future to the greed of the older generations, I would be affronted by the debauched job done by my party. Instead of celebrating over naught, in a country where the medical facilities have metamorphosed into death-consulting edifices, I would be embarrassed. As an alternative to upsetting the nation that dwells in fear, I would be deeply chagrinned. It is only the reprobates who merry after sailing the ship of their Motherland off-course for more than a decade and a half. The world giggles as the barefaced looters revel.” – DELE AJAJA (just dropping in.)
