NIGHT 245 (of 284) CELEBRATING 25 YEARS SINCE THE 1980s Tonight is the second of our Aussie double header and we have a HUGE song from a HUGE Aussie band for you. It is hard to believe, that on this day 17 years ago, Australia lost one of its greatest musical talents. Many have tried to fill his shoes, but none have come close to succeeding in what this man could do. They are without a doubt, the most successful Australian band of the 1980s. Their resume included no less than eight TOP 20 hits, two TOP 10 hits and seven TOP 3 hits, along with a long list of other lesser chart successes. Surprisingly they only had the one #1 hit which came in 1984 when Original Sin, from The Swing album, topped the charts. In the same year, from the same album, both I Send A Message and Burn For You both went to #3. The Kick album was also very successful for this group. They actually kicked (pardon the pun) off their Kick tour at the Mount Isa Civic Centre in 1988. It was an awesome concert! Great memories, they dont do concerts like they did in the 80s.
