NIK UPDATE!!! RESULTS ARE IN!!! Just hung up with the dr. There is still no diagnosis! MS has been ruled out. 1 rare lymphoma has been ruled out. For whatever reasons, they only sent a tiny sample to check for cancer and it was negative for that type of cancer. Infection has been ruled out. A lot of the lesions on the MRI take up the contrast. He has a high white count within the spinal fluid. Cause for concern. Other cancers can not be ruled out, just the 1 lymphoma. The lesions are misshapen which presents as cancer. No diagnosis though. To rule out other cancers without biopsy, 3 Lumbar Punctures have to be done. Along with new scans. Hes not going to be happy about that! The biopsy is very risky for Nik. He has metal plates in his head which would have to be removed to get to the lesions. Putting Nik in a life or death situation. There is a plan to discuss this option December 4th. Diagnosis may take a long time. Because of the plates in his head, we are limited on how many MRIs he can have and when. Too much radiation can cause the lesions to grow abnormally for Nik. Making diagnosis difficult. WE HAVE NO DIAGNOSIS! We keep keeping on, one moment at a time. Without clear diagnosis, there is no treatment. Please continue to pray. Seems the likeliest option still on the table may be cancer of some type.
