NINE SHOPS GUTTED Source:The Sangai Express Imphal, September 08 2013:Altogether nine different types ofcommercial outlets were completely gutted by a ravaging inferno at Saparmeina bazar late last night that reduced to cindersarticles including grocery and household items as well as cash kept inside the shops. Reports culled from the incident spot suggest that the inferno occurred at around midnight with electric short circuit suspected to be the cause of the fire. However, the building itself was not damaged severely as it was aconcrete structure. Nine shops gutted at Saparmeina bazar The fire consumed articles belonging to Lhingcha Vaiphei Pan Dukan, Ngamjang Lhouvum Pharmacy, Mrs.Hechong Pan Dukan, Manggin Singsit Moreh Store, Pradip Pan Dukan, Jangkhohao Haokip Moreh Store, Samu Meat Hotel, Henei Pan Dukan and Thongkam Kipgen Meat Hotel. The fire was put under control before it could spread to nearby shops by personnel of the Sub-Fire Station Kangpokpi Service with the assistance of thegeneral public. The worth of properties destroyed in the fire could not beestimated immediately.
