NIT Srinagar Hazratbal notifies MPhil Phd Admission 2015 1 Admission to M.Phil and PhD Programmes 2015 Applications are invited for enrolment to M.Phil/Ph.D Research Programmes in the field of Engineering, Science & Humanities and Social Science for the spring session 2015 ______________________________________________________________________________ M.Phil/Ph.D Faculty of Science (field of specialization) Chemistry: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Chemistry Physics: Space Plasma, Nanotechnology, Atomic Physics, Nanotechnology, Solid State Physics, Renewable Energy, Theoretical Physics and Solid State Physics Mathematics: Complex Analysis, Wavelet Analysis and Operation Research Humanities and Social Science: General Management, Financial, Management and Marketing Management Eligibility for M.Phil Program The eligibility for admission to the M.Phil Programme shall be as under: a) A candidate must have secured not less than 55% marks at Masters Level in the concerned subject b) Candidates shall have to qualify entrance Test securing atleast 40% marks i) The JRF/NET/SET qualified candidates shall be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test and merit of such candidates shall be as per their percentage of marks obtained at the Masters level ii) College Teacher With five year’s service on substantive basis shall also be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test Eligibility for (Part-time) M.Phil Program Subject to conditions laid down by the University from time to time, the following categories shall be entitled to pursue the M.Phil Programme in Part-Time basis they have to qualify the Entrance Test if not eligible for exemption under: i) Permanent Teachers of the University departments Centres with one year continuous service on substantive basis ii) Permanent teachers of constituent / affiliated colleges / Schools with atleast 2 years of service on substantive basis iii) Technical Staff Including Technical Assistants, Research Assistants, Editors, Junior Editors, Museum Assistants, Curators, Professional Assistants of the University of Kashmir who have put in a minimum of 2 years continuous service on substantive basis after completion of their Post-Graduation vi) Permanent non-teaching staff of the University of Kashmir/State or central Gov / Autonomous Bodies, with at least 2 years service on substantive basis after completion of their Post-Graduation Eligibility for Ph.D Program The candidates having obtained M.Phil degree with at least B grade shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D programme Provided that the following categories of candidates shall be eligible for direct admission to Ph.D programme: i) Candidates having qualified JRF from national Examining Bodies ii) Candidates having passed P.G in Engineering /M.Tech/MS/M.Sc Engineering/M.Pharma /LLM with atleast 55% marks iii) Teachers from university if Kashmir with one year service on substantive basis and permanent teachers from the affiliated Colleges, teachers of NIT/SKUAST/SKIMS/IUST or any other recognized Institute / Centre and +2 level teachers from recognized Institutions having 55% marks at PG Level with 3 years experience on substantive basis Candidates having secured at least 65% marks at the master’s level in the subject concerned / allied subject Eligibility for Ph.D Program on (Part-Time Basis) The following categories of candidates having M.Phil degree with at least ‘B’ grade or M.Tech / PG in engineering / ME/MS/M.Sc Engineering / LL.M /M.Pharma with at least 55% marks shall be eligible for admission to the PhD programme on part-time basis on production of written permission from his/her employer in order of the following preference: i) Permanent University teachers with one year teaching experience on substantive basis ii) In service candidates having qualified NET/SET iii) Permanent scientists NRL (BARC) IIIM / FRL, Leh/CSIR training Institute, Pampore or any other Research Institute recognized by the Syndicate and having 3 years substantive service in the scientific officer’s cadre iv) Contractual/Temporary/Adhoc teachers of the University Departments/Centres with a continuous service of 2 years of registration period, he/she/they shall have to work on whole time basis till the remaining part of the two years residency period is completed Application Form Application forms can also be downloaded from our website nitsri.net and sent to the respective Head, Department of the concerned National Institute of Technology, Srinagar alongwith the necessary Demand Draft for Rs.400/- (in case of SC/ST candidates Rs.200/-) drawn in favour of Director, NIT Srinagar by or before 12th of December 2014 Applications will be screened by concerned Departments and list of eligible candidates will be put on website nitsri.net by or before 24th of December 2014 All announcements
