NO. 583 C of O CERTIFICATE HOLDERS URGED TO PAY THEIR ANNUAL GROUND RENT All Land owners with Certificate of Statutory Right of Occupancy on both private and government land in the State of Osun have been advised to pay up their Annual Ground Rent with arrears where applicable. This payment is in accordance with the provisions of state land laws sections 13 and 14 of chapter 150 which stipulates that Annual Ground Rents should be paid to government on the 1st day of January each year. This is contained in a press release signed by the Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Arc. Muyiwa Ige. The release advised those in doubt of their ground rent indebtedness to liaise with the Ministry with their certificate of occupancy and evidence of any payment on ground rent which they have made in the previous years. He further urged the concerned persons to pay up the arrears of annual ground rent on their title documents without delay. NO. 584 DUALIZATION OF GBONGAN-AKODA ROAD: AREGBESOLA PERFORMS TURNING OF SOD TOMORROW The Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola will tomorrow (15th June, 2013) perform the official turning of the sod of dualization of Gbongan Akoda Freedom Way and the construction of Chief Bisi Akande trumpet interchange bridge. Venue of the ceremony is the Ratcon Yard, beside Gbongan-Ode-Omu High School, Gbongan. A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Transport, Engr. Oladepo Amudah, revealed that the 30Km dual carriage way that will be completed within 18months with trumpet bridge at Gbongan junction will be one of the monumental achievements of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s administration. The statement, therefore, enjoined members of the State Executive Council, State House of Assembly members, Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Non-Ministerial agencies, Party exco, members of Osun State Council of Oba’s, artisans, Babalojas, Iyalojas among others to attend the epoch making event. NO. 585 OSUN FIRST LADY FLAGS-OFF CHILD HEALTH WEEK MONDAY Wife of the Governor of the State of Osun, Alhaja Sherrifat Aregbesola will on Monday (17th June 2013) flag-off a week long programme on Maternal, New Born and Child Health Week (MNCHW). Venue is Ikire Local Government Secretariat, Irewole by 10.ooam. This information is contained in a press statement issued by the Commissioner for Health Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Ilori in Osogbo. The Statement revealed that all executive secretaries, top government functionaries including, market women and nursing mothers are expected at the flag-off ceremony. NO 586 OSUN WILL PARTNER LOCAL, INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS ON DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES – AREGBESOLA Governor, State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesoa has stated that the state will not hesitate to collaborate with national and international organizations on people-centred development programmes. Governor Aregbesola made this statement in Osogbo during a one-day empowerment seminar organized by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan for grassroots farmers and other categories of rural dwellers in the state. According to him, since the inception of the current civilian administration, the State Government has executed various developmental programmes on youth employment, rural and urban development, massive road construction, education, agriculture, transportation and environmental sanitation among others. Ogbeni Aregbesola, who was represented at the occasion, by the state Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Professor (Mrs.) Olubukola Oyawoye, reiterated the State Government’s commitment to fulfill the administration’s promises to the people without compromise. Meanwhile, in his welcome address at the occasion, leader of the IITA delegation to the seminar, Mr. Stefan Hauser, informed the gathering that his organization intends to address the current challenges in agricultural production system in parts of Africa, Asia and America through an Integrated System Approach. He stressed that agriculture, as substantial natural resources, if well managed, can impact positively on sustainable ecosystem, climate change, food and nutrition security. Mr. Houser emphasized that the seminar was aimed at reducing rural poverty, increasing food security, improving nutrition and health and to sustain management of natural resources in the state. NO. 587 OSUN CIVIL SERVANTS APPRECIATE GOV. AREGBESOLA The State of Osun Civil Servants have shown their appreciations to the present administration of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, for the opportunity given them to celebrate the current year’s civil service week which is billed to commence next Monday. This statement was made by the Head of Service of the State, Mr. Sunday Olayinka Owoeye while delivering his address to commemorate the commencement of the year 2013 civil service week in Osogbo. Mr. Owoeye commended the administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola for the achievements made so far and used the occasion to convey the appreciation of the entire civil servants to the Governor for the prevalent peace enjoyed in the state, adding that there can only be progress in a peaceful atmosphere. He then congratulated Civil Servants for the opportunity they enjoy to celebrate the civil service week and enjoined them to attend the series of events lined up for the week. NO. 588 OSUN CIVIL SERVICE WEEK KICKS-OFF ON MONDAY The year 2013 Civil Service Week in the State of Osun will commence on Monday 17th June and end on 23rd June, 2013. This is contained in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Owoeye. According to the time table released by the Head of Service to mark the week, the first day, Monday 17th June, 2013 will feature a meeting between the Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Owoeye and all Permanent Secretaries in the state at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo in the morning. On Tuesday 18th, June, 2013, the number one citizen in the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola will engage the state civil servants in an interactive session where questions and answers will be allowed while on Wednesday, there will be medical checkup for all civil servants in the state. Also on Wednesday at noon, the anniversary lecture will be delivered by a retired Permanent Secretary in the state, Mr. Femi Osunro, also at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding. On Thursday, afternoon Directors, and Deputy Directors football teams will slug it out in a novelty match at the Government Technical College, playing Ground, Iwo/Ibadan road, Osogbo. On Friday, a Jumat Service to mark the week will hold at the New Secretariat Mosque, behind Bola Ige House by 1.00pm. The civil service week celebration will climax with Awards and Gala Night at Leisure Spring Hotel and Resort, on Saturday evening while a thanksgiving service which will signal the close of this year’s Civil Service week is slated to hold on Sunday at the Christ Power Evangelistic Crusade International, Capital Area, Osogbo. NO. 589 5-DAY WORKSHOP ON COMMUNITY LED TOTAL SANITATION HOLDS ON MONDAY A 5-day workshop for all State and Local Government officials in the State of Osun on the implementation of Community Led Total Sanitation in the 61 focal communities under the first phase of replication of Unicef Community Development Initiative Programme holds on Monday (17th June, 2013). According to a release signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor, on Rural Development, Water Resources and Community Affairs, Mr. Kunle Ige, the opening ceremony of the workshop will be presided over by the Wife of the State Governor Alhaja Serifat Aregbesola at the Royal Palace Hotel, Ilobu. He therefore urged all invited state officials, replication focal officers and participants from the water and environmental sanitation department of the 30 Local Governments to arrive the venue by the evening of Sunday.
