NO FASTENING FOR THE TRAVELLER & SICK IN RAMADAN.. by Imam Muhammad Abdu The pioneering Islamic intellectual & grand Egyptian Mufti Imam Muhamad Abdu has clarified that as per Quran , the traveler & sick person should not fasten in Ramadan & their fastening is wrong and the Prophet (pbuh)has ordered sahaba not to fasten while traveling & he himself did not fasten while traveling & described those who fasten while traveling as disobeying & wrongful .Moreover Quran verses has clearly commanded travelers to breakfast & did not give them the option of fastening or breakfastening , but commanded to breakfast only & then fasten equal days later after the traveling ends. Quran said that ALLAH wants ease for Muslims & not hardship , thus any attempt to make the religion hard despite the ease wanted by Allah is an attempt to oppose the command of Allah & Islam .. see Quran verses 2;185 " So whoever witnesses the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days.
