NO HOME TO GO TO is the topic of our OCCASSIONAL PAPER PRESENTATION(OPP) today in the class of Personnel Psychologists in the department of Guidance and Counselling, University of Ibadan. It was coordinated by Dr Onyebuchi Opara and presented by Mrs Nzere Oyinkansola, a colleague in the class . Let me also appreciate the presence of Dr A.E. Awoyemi, chairman, Counselling Association of Nigeria(CASSON), Oyo State chapter and Dr N.M. Ofole. I wish you were there. It was great. Have you ever imagined or pondered on the factors that can make a man/woman leave home? This is a burning issue in our society, especially work places, and bosses or Human Resource Managers(HRMs)/Personnel Managers do not think of the way out. They always think about how to make profits in there business but never think about the psychological health and well being of there employees as far as home is concerned. Some men/women find it difficult to return HOME because of conflicts/crises at home. This is what we(Personnel Psychologists) are looking into, as a peaceful and stable home has positive and great impact on the organization where you work. Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave but not our hearts-Oliver Wendrell Holmes. Home is a childs first and most important classroom-Hillary Clinton. A good home is a healthy home, and a healthy home is a good home. Cheers!!!
