NO HUMAN RIGHTS, NO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. (1) I decided to leave the Republic Socialist of Vietnam to have an opportunity to bring my wife and six children to the United States of America, later on. (1) On May 6/1989 crossed the border on a fishing boat. (2) Three days later, we met an American ship.LNG. (3) The ship rescued us and carried us to Japan, to Omura Center (Nagasaki). From the Japanese Immigrant Officers took us to Tokyo International Refugee Assistance Center, then we moved to a Catholic Uminoe Camp in Niigata. We enjoyed our first Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Japan. After 9 months living in Japan we moved to PRPC (Philippine Refugees Processing Center). There, I helped the young Amerasians, and adopted one of them as my adoptive daughter. Finally, on November 1990 I arrived in U.S. Here luckily, I got a very good job at RKM&C Law firm, and all RKM&C s employees were involved in the process of getting my family to join me. Especially Deborah J. Palmer and Jan F. Broin who spent 2 years dealing with bureaucratic maze. Finally, my wife, Hao Nguyen and two minor sons, Tri Tang and Si Tang arrived on September 1994. In 1995 I becoming a U.S. citizen. A year later my other four children, Hanh Tang (daughter), Thong Tang (son), Mau Nghi Tang (daughter), and Thien Tang (daughter) were able to leave the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and come to the Unites States of America. Since that day, I so aptly stated: Being in the U.S.A. is like every day being a Spring day.
