NO, I do not want my public school system teaching the bible or any other form of religion outside of being honest about the roles they have played in history and in our current social structure......from the looks of many of the posts I see on facebook, they need to concentrate on...... READING COMPREHENSION......LOGIC......RESEARCH.......AND INDEPENDENT THOUGHT......that will then allow them to choose their own spiritual path with the help and influence of their family......Thank you to my hippie middle school English teacher Ms Wright, that taught us it was ok to disagree without disrespect and to write what we felt not what we thought others wanted to hear.........thank you to my high school art teacher, Ms. Nowlin that taught me to value my artistic abilities even when the school system did not .......to Mr Aldridge, my favorite history teacher ever, for showing that being a devout Christian, does not mean lying about what has and is being done in Christs name.......to any that would reply to this message with ignorant, bigoted, homophobic, racist, isolationist rhetoric.......just assume that I am the group you think unworthy of respect and consideration and delete me from your circle......I got my education from teachers that went against the grain and lots and lots of books....teach HOW to think not WHAT to think....because we need new thoughts......if we had the answers we wouldnt be in this mess......
