NO PROTECTION FOR OUR KAURI IN NORTHLAND In NZ we love our environment so much and we care because of tourism. BUT we cut DOC jobs and what happens our Kauri Forests are left abandoned, unprotected, pest control and dying of kauri-dieback. Today here is a track to several large and beautiful kauri and sign with no spray or brush just saying. ... nek minnit not funny do we spit on our boots then rub with our hands and we were able to walk right up to the kauri if stupid like most tourists or visits you take a photo up close next to the kauri tree ... yeah right!!!! These Kauri are at risk from disease and pests in the Russell Forest, Northland. Should they be blocked off to protect them?
