NO SOCIAL MEDIA for 24 hours. Today is the funeral for Michael Brown in St. Louis. I join Don Lemon of CNN who said he would not be on social media today after seeing such negative, hateful, racial comments on Twitter and other sites. My heart grieved as I read some of the comments in our local media comments section. The more people claim that there is no racism, no hatred, no evil in our land, the more I read comments that victimize victims, justify violence and belittle the voices of the disenfranchised. Social media does give society the opportunity to state what they feel while they are hidden behind a keyboard – things that they would NEVER say to your face. Goodbye until tomorrow. R.I.P. Michael Brown.
