NO TO TERRORISM A certain radical group drawn from ex-army officials - dissidents in the diaspora, caused our peaceful Gambia to be gripped by panic; the entire citizenry. Thanks be to Allah SWT and the high level of professionalism manifested by our security apparatus who deserve accolade having had foiled the reign of terror that made waves of panic stricken Gambians on Friday the 26th of December absolutely frustrated while the Honorable President was away on an official mission to Dubai. Their modalities failed because they reckoned up that the security apparatus would fore-go the ongoing development efforts being embarked upon since the advent of the July 22nd Revolution, and give in to the radicals dastardly act of terror. The security apparatus contained the situation instead; professionally indeed. So they deserve standing ovation; and accolades for a job well executed. Those involved in the coup attempt hailed from dissidents in the diaspora who are ex-army officials and some locally based disloyal officers in the Army. The one who masterminded it was top brass officer in the Army who absconded and went AWOL only to seek refuge in the States after having defaulted. Their in the States he joined in the US Army as reported which has no hands in this dastardly act of terror. In the fight against terror, it is common knowledge that the US takes the center stage in fighting against terrorism in the entire globe. The US Security Apparatus were able to arrest and detained two of the officers involved in the this reign of terror and I do sincerely hope that justice will be dispensed against them without fear or favour, affection, ill-will and hypocrisy. Had they succeeded, theyd have reverted us to square one. and would have resulted result into counter-coup upon counter-coup and double crossing of the highest order among the security apparatus-the powers that be who have demonstrated a high level of patriotism and loyalty to the present administration instead, hence avoiding destabilization of the entire Gambia. Had they seen or heard of the intensification of governments efforts to speed up our development process, they would not have tried such a selfish move, we all condemned it by manifesting it through a solidarity march-pass in support of the present government and the entire security apparatus of the nation. I sincerely believe that their still exists some of those among their failed net-work who are still at large. Continual arrest of suspects are still ongoing of course for further investigations and/or questioning. That radical group does not wish this tiny and rapidly developing nation peace at all. They failed to recognize the old English adage that has it that: When two elephants clash, it is more often than not the grass roots that suffers the painful consequences We thank once again Allah SWT The Honorable President, Government People and our able-bodied security personnel for a job well done. I personally really feel it for them for they are at present fully engaged flats out just to insure the common citizenry is save and secure. Sleepless-nights is the order of the day for them at present they sacrifice and vowed to protect our interest which they are truly manifesting so more grease to their elbows. I am deeply impressed by the level of professionalism manifested by the security apparatus in containing the situation. Day-to-day business is ongoing and the level of panic is greatly nullified for we are seeing the security apparatus being deployed all over so their exists no compromise from their end-meaning the able-bodied security apparatus of this nation towards those involved in the terror attack and their entire network. I sincerely believe that investigations of the highest order are still ongoing, and I personally believe that the radical group would never succeed.for whosoever tries to destabilize this nation will greatly suffer the consequences as The Honorable President had it. Those dissidents engaged in this, I wonder what they if only they survive would explain to posterity because they owe explanation to them. Let us please give development a chance for a brighter tomorrow. MAY ALLAH SWT IN HIS INFINITE AND ANACHRONISTIC WISDOM AND MERCY CONTINUE TO GUIDE AND PROTECT THE HONORABLE PRESIDENT, HIS GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE GAMBIA FOR A JOB WELL EXECUTED IN COOPERATING WITH THE SECURITY APPARATUS BY HELPING THEM DO THEIR JOB SO WE AS CITIZENS ARE DUTY BOUND TO ASSIST THOSE SAFE-GUARDING OUR LIVES IN THEIR INVESTIGATIONS.
