NO!! When someone is breaking into your house and you are under serious stress it will take you longer than 3 seconds in the dark and even if you can do it in 3-6 seconds those seconds could be the difference between life and death. My pistol hangs on my bedpost in a latching holster my son knows not to touch it and when he is old enough to safely fire it he will be taught how to do just that. During the late 1800s and early 1900s there was a loaded firearm in almost every home and it was readily accessible to everyone in the home yet there was no epidemic of children shooting themes or others, now why is that? Maybe because they educated their kids and knew have to get their point across.
