NO eggsaggeration here (^^^) Has anyone else noticed that eggs dont peel the same anymore? I mean, there is no real science to hard-boiled eggs, so why is something that I have done for years all of a sudden not working anymore? Chickens on steroids...lol, thats why!!! Seriously though -its bad enough that groceries dont add up to what they used to- but now to have half my egg still stuck to a shell- it is a waste and infuriating to say the least! For those who were wondering how I made hard boiled eggs, I did what I have always done and it has always worked until recently (last 2/3 years) I place the eggs flat on the bottom of a pan, place cold water over the eggs, and give about an inch above for boiling room- Bring the eggs to a rolling boil- remove from heat, keep eggs in pot while covered for an additional 6-10 minutes depending on the size, - drain and crack but dont peel yet, place eggs in cold water with ice and in fridge for 20 min- and then take out to peel- cant seem to separate the membrane from the shell anymore- even using my thumb to pry the shell is a futile effort- instead the egg white breaks away from the yolk and stays connected to the shell. Normally, I wouldnt make a fuss, but when I was younger I did a presentation (speech and posters) of eggs, their uses and the different types for 4H (I raised a white rabbit too) so I once had some authority on the subject- Im just curious to know has anyone else had these same issues?
