NO on Amendment One Campaign Coordinator The Tennessee Democratic Party is now accepting applications for the position of ‘No on Amendment One’ Campaign Coordinator. Job Description The coordinator will direct all statewide TNDP efforts regarding the campaign to defeat Amendment One on the 2014 ballot. She or he will coordinate closely with our allies in the No on Amendment One ballot initiative to advocate against, educate about, and inspire opposition to Amendment One. Qualifications The successful candidate will bring the following skills and attributes to the position: • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including exceptional attention to detail; • Ability to work quickly and cooperatively under pressure; • Goal-orientation, ability to multi-task, and willingness to hold self and others accountable; • Energetic outlook and commitment to our mission and grassroots approach to campaign; • A team approach that combines collegiality and creativity to drive and motivate others; • Passionate about advocating for women and about bringing new voices and constituencies to the campaign; • Sound computer skills including database entry, management, and report formatting. Preferred additional attributes: • Strong track record working within a formalized campaign coalition with various coalition partners, allies and stakeholder groups; • Electoral campaign and/or advocacy campaign experience, particularly with ballot initiative campaigns; • Experience writing campaign literature including press releases and campaign talking points. Duties The No on Amendment One Campaign Coordinator will be in charge of TNDP’s education and outreach efforts on Amendment One. Specific duties include but are not limited to: • Educating, identifying, and defining coalition partners for the campaign • Organizing and managing teams of volunteers to conduct educational and outreach events; • Working with the Executive Director, Communications Director, and No on Amendment One coalition partners to refine and deliver our campaign message; • Reporting to TNDP Executive Committee members on campaign progress. Salary The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and abilities.
