NOAA issued its 2014/2015 Outlook today and looks like the Minnesota Squirrels agree that we are in for near average to slightly above average temperatures December, January and February. Snowfall forecast is near average to slightly below average snow December, January and February. The folklore is a bushy tail on a squirrel in Fall means a Severe Cold Winter and a smaller tail means a milder Winter. This squirrel was running around Edina the other day and the tail does look about average for a squirrel so looks like an average Winter for the Twin Cities. Sunny and breezy today in the Twin Cities with Southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph and high temperatures near 70 degrees. Much cooler Friday with gusty winds from the northwest, cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 50s. Watch KSTP TV for all the latest updates. Jonathan Yuhas kstp/weather/
