NOAH I first encountered this little boy in January 2014. I - TopicsExpress

NOAH I first encountered this little boy in January 2014. I know most of the cats in the neighborhood and who owns them but I had never seen this guy before. He was huddled under a decrepit boat trailer on an abandoned property close to my home on a very cold, sleety day with 4 foot snow drifts. As I passed with one of my dogs, he fled. Weeks passed and I would see him navigating mounds of snow on my street looking for shelter. He always seemed to head back to the property I originally spotted him. I managed to get an insulated cat house and began putting food out. It was just in the last two months that he gravitated his way to my home and discovered the food I would leave for him every evening. He refused to use the insulated cat box but began taking refuge at night at my neighbor’s home behind huge shrubbery under the overhang of the house. Smart cat. He would not let me near him but it was ok with him if I sat nearby and watched him eat on the front steps. As I got closer I saw just how handsome he was. He would chirp at me quietly as if to reveal his story. It was then I noticed a one inch fleshy gash on his neck and the tips of his ears looked scabbed. Three nights ago around 11pm (10/8/14) I was letting my dogs out for the last time that evening when I heard crying out front. There he was sitting there meowing in the driveway. I knelt down and before I could say a word he had crawled under my arm. I swooped him up and settled him into a spare bedroom with a large window. We spent the next hour doing a lot of head butting – I don’t think I have ever seen a more affectionate little boy. The next day he was vetted. The gash on his neck was healing. The vet said he had injured himself on metal or something sharp. The scabs on his ears and body looked more like he had gotten beat up by another cat somewhere along the line. Though we cannot confirm it - We both agreed that Noah was more than likely very much an indoor cat that was left behind, tossed outside to fend for himself…ultimately abandoned. Noah has had all of his necessary vaccines, tested negative for feline aids/leuk and he is neutered. The vet said he has great teeth and is approximately 4 years old. He is a mellow guy – not a hyper cat. He loves to cuddle…A LOT. He prefers to be on the inside of a window looking out than looking in. He has no desire to be outside again. I am looking for an awesome home for him. Someone who will adore him because he is indeed a Romeo who craves belly rubs. It is just one cat story of many but he deserves to live the best life with people who love him – he had been through so much. I CANNOT keep him. I am on a mission to find the best home for him free from fear and battling the elements. Could it be you? Please share far and wide but more important, please open your heart and your home to sweet Noah.
