NOE Center In September of 1990, a family moved to Mexico City, Mexico to start a small language school. With help from a government official, they chose Morelia, Mexico for their school’s location. There, they completed the school and began bringing friends down to the site to help launch the new school. The family named the school New Educational Opportunities (NOE) and decided it would be a blend between a community center and an English language institute. The goal was to give underprivileged children a future, while also giving hope through relationships with students. The next step was to set up a schedule, including classes, which benefited the children of the area. NOE’s passionate belief in the power of education and recreational programs – and the willingness of the children to participate – has allowed its staff to share the love of Christ to children in the local community. The school is staffed by primarily natives of Mexico, and some of the current teachers were once students at NOE who went on to earn college degrees. Juan Peralta is such a student and is now a full-time administrator and youth pastor at the school. He is one of 15 current staff members who were previously students in the NOE program. He was a part of the NOE “dream team,” a program that brings the top students to Portland, Oregon for a month in an annual exchange program. Juan is just one person and one story changed by the opportunities a good education was able to provide. With every student that walks through the doors to class at NOE, there lies an opportunity for greatness. This is the mission of NOE, to lead youth to understand they are here for a reason, and that someone believes in them. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Hits56 Radio _______ FB: r-js/1rlggeQ / TW: r-js/1us3SdS / Listen to LIPSapp Hits56 Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan
