NOMAC (NOrthern Michigan Astronomy Club) holds their third annual Star Party at Raven Hill Discovery Center Friday, August 22, 2014 through Saturday, August 24, 2014! The Star Party is free to anyone, for limited viewing each night. Camping is available for $25 a night, $40 for 2 nights, and $50 for 3 nights. Bring your own telescope, etc or use NOMACs equipment. This is a great family and friends opportunity to appreciate our night sky treasures and we would love for you to join us. Please fill out and send the form to NOMAC. Go to nomac.net to download a form. Guest speakers on Friday and Saturday evenings. Lectures start at 8 pm on both nights. Friday - David Rodgers is a Professor of Chemistry and Earth Sciences at North Central Michigan College, where he has taught since 2005. Saturday - Doug Bock has 40+ years as an amateur astronomer and did astrophotography with film and CCD. Raven Hill has excellent dark skies with a low tree line.
