NON-ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL DELAYED WEDNESDAY -- Due to impending inclement weather, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth has authorized a two-hour delay in reporting to work for all non-essential personnel on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Essential personnel are to report on time. Personnel with specific reporting questions should contact their chain of command. Liberal leave is authorized. The Emergency Room, inpatients and outpatient clinics at the main hospital will maintain a normal schedule. Patients scheduled for surgery tomorrow should report on time. Patients worried about driving conditions may call their clinic and reschedule their appointment. Branch clinics will follow the schedule of the base they serve, however, a small staff will be onsite to care for patients before the branch clinic is fully staffed. Snow is expected this evening, and temperatures will drop into the teens overnight. If you must travel, allow extra time to reach your destination safely. Keep your cell phone charged in the event of power outages. Any updates to this information will be provided to local media and added to NMCP’s Facebook page at facebook/NMCPortsmouth and twitter/NMCP1.
