NON-LEAGUE VISIT #61 This was a fairly recent trip but before we go any further Conference club Grimsby Town play in Cleethorpes and Cleethorpes Town play in Grimsby. You already knew! It was at the suggestion of Paul tie of the round! that swayed me into going to the Northern Counties East League club via the Humber Bridge. The venue has its defenders and rightly so but with an address like the Bradley Football Development Centre you know its not going to be an awesome experience but the lure of the FA Cup and a fresh tick....A decent -sized car-park lies in front of the complex and on going through the turnstiles you find you are in a corner of the ground so lets traverse it anti-clockwise.Hard standing all the way round,we are at a goal end with no cover but the far flank has the only seating,a 4step seated stand (about 180 seats) astride the half-way line, bought from an hardware shop. You know what i mean! The far goal has another item off the shelf a covered stand for the upright spectators and passing the corner flag we hit the home straight initially a narrow strip before opening up into a large paved area. All the facilities are here including the club-house where you can eat but there is an hatch serving those outside. The impression is a clean venue. Its capacity is 1,000 and for this game against victors North Ferriby United it attracted a crowd of 321.Thats me below snapping the players as they enter the field of play. The club was formed in 1998 and were NCEL Division 1 champions last season.Another relatively recently formed club Grimsby Borough ground share but i wont be back in a hurry!
