NON-SUSS EVENT Adventure Time is back this month with two stellar speakers in a brand new venue. On the 28th of August from 7:30pm come to Stucco Housing Co-op for talks by: MICK HOLTON - “Epic Adventures - getting yourself out of strife” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A former big wall climber, as well as canyoner, caver, climber and walker, Mick Holton has spent his life outdoors. After a well spent youth partaking in these pursuits, he later became a firefighter, rescue operator then a rescue instructor with the NSW Fire Brigades. The “Firies” is where Mick made the transition from recreational pursuits to vertical rescue operations, swift water rescue, height safety and industrial rope access. Mick continues his love of all things vertical as a very passionate instructor with Risk, Response + Rescue. Mick’s philosophy is that you never stop learning. Come the 28th Mick will be sharing with us harrowing rescue stories, and real life skills to get yourself out of strife. Look forward to an interactive presentation with footage, demonstrations, and expert commentary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MICHAL KOZOK - Unmotorized N-S Traverse of South America ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After 131 countries by foot, pedal, pogo stick, kayak, shopping trolley etc., its safe to say Polish adventurer Michal Kozok has done a fair bit of travelling. Whether its regaling a Valentines Day in Guinea during a civil war, being smuggled across the Darien Gap and getting blown out to sea, being circled for hours by a dingo as he walked the length of the Strzelecki Desert, or any number of other weird and wonderful stories, Michal is a fascinating and entertaining speaker. On the night he will be telling us the story of his trip from the southern most tip to the northern most tip of South America, using only unmotorized means of transport. Some such means included running, ice climbing, pedal boating, paragliding and skateboarding. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
