NOPP PHOTO UPDATE: I just received word that Mrs. Maggie Simmons ( NOPP DAY # 424) passed over the weekend. So on behalf of the entire New Orleans People Project (NOPP) family and followers of this project, we would like to send our condolences out to her family and loved ones. We are proud that she shared a small part of her life with us here at the NOPP. You will forever be in our hearts and memory. On a personal note...It was an extreme honor and privilege to have been given the opportunity to tell your story verbally and visually. We all hope and aspire to be just like you. On this day....and at this moment...you are remembered. You are one of the many reasons why I continue this project. Your name will not be lost in obscurity. We, [NOPP] will collectively remember your name as someone we knew as a FRIEND. Mrs. Maggie Simmons left us at 108 years old. I will be the first to say.....WHAT A BLESSING!
