NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE MUSIC EDUCATION HUB Musical Activities Week (1st -6th July) (BATHS HALL Scunthorpe) Please take a look below at the list of activities and concerts we have at the Baths Hall next week and do share this with family, friends and colleagues. We would love you to join us at the concerts. Tickets are available from the Baths Hall at a really reasonable price of £3 or £4 with a Saturday concerts Extravaganza and a FREE concert on Sunday afternoon. (Full details are on the Baths Hall website) Helpful link below: tickets.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk/single/eventlisting.aspx Tuesday 1st July 2.30pm Massed KS2 Instrumental Celebration Children who learn to play a musical instrument in a whole class situation are showcasing their work in this massed celebration. (Limited seating) Tuesday 1st July 6.30pm Tickets £4 - Concert performance by the Youth String Orchestra involving students from North Lincolnshire schools and conducted by Helen Williams-Hardy with a varied programme of classical and light music followed by a young Cello Group. The concert then continues with the Lindsey Orchestra, a community ensemble performing a chamber music programme directed by Steve Fareham. (Limited seating) Wednesday 2nd July 3.30pm - Massed Instrumental Play Day showcases the work of young instrumentalists who come together to enjoy playing as a large ensemble. (limited seating) Thursday 3rd July 6.00pm Tickets £3 - Songs of World War One is a performance by young singers from 12 North Lincolnshire primary schools and includes the songs Its a long way to Tipperary, Pack up your Troubles and also debuts on the River Marne by Martin Watson. This will be accompanied by a Music Service Instrumental teachers band and directed by Sue Hollingworth. There will also be selected readings from the War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. Saturday 5th July - 2.00pm Tickets £4 (or £6 for both afternoon and evening concerts)-This Concerts Extravaganza Day begins with performances by the North Lincolnshire Music Centres First String Orchestra, First Concert Band and Youth Swing Band. They will be performing a wide variety of popular and film music items. (All welcome) Saturday 5th July - 7.00pm Tickets £4 (or £6 when combined with afternoon concert) - This evening Extravaganza concert also celebrates the achievements of outstanding musicians in North Lincolnshire in the Presentation of Music Centre Awards. There will be performances by the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Concert Band. Both ensembles will play a variety of light classical, film scores and popular music. (All welcome) Sunday 6th July - 2.00pm (Free Admission) The North Lincolnshire Musical Activities celebrations finish with Community performances by the Cooperative Training Choir, The St Lawrence Academy Dance Group and the Shower Singers Community Choir who will sing popular songs from West End shows, a collection of ABBA songs and other favourites including the catchy Rhythm of Life.
