NOT ALL DRIVERS ARE BAD DRIVERS Please read all this post. So I am an owner driver for Yodel. I deliver an average of 175 stops per day. I treat every customer as if they were my mum or dad (with respect) I greet every customer with a good morning/afternoon/evening and depart with enjoy the rest of your day. Just basics. The job can be very rewarding as well as demanding. One example is i have an old guy on my route whom is housebound as he has no legs. I deliver to him twice a week with medication strips of some sort. He is in bed in his front room most mornings as his carer gets him up. He has a remote door lock and lets me in so he can sign for his parcel. He always asks the same questions whats the weather like? Are the roads busy? Just to name a few. I spend around 10 minutes chatting to him and get him a glass of water. Bearing in mind his parcel can be posted but I take time out of my day to speak to him give him 10 minutes of my time and also a friendly face. At Christmas I gave one Christmas card and that was to this customer. He has no family and visitors and hasnt been out of the house for 8 years. Just to see the smile on his face when you arrive makes my day.
