Boys birthday turns tragic as mom hangs herself BANGALORE: Depressed over not being able to celebrate her sons birthday, a 29-year-old woman hanged herself on Tuesday night. Pushpa, a resident of Begur near Electronics City, was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her in-laws who live next door. Police said although no death note was found, Pushpas family said she was depressed over not being able to celebrate her four-year-old sons birthday. Pushpa was planning to organize the party on Tuesday. But her husband and family members suggested they should celebrate it along with the naming ceremony of her second child who is seven months old. The same evening, she dropped her children at her in-laws house on the pretext of doing household chores, and committed suicide. Youth commits suicide, kin allege police harassment A youth who was under investigation for a vehicle-lifting case committed suicide at his Mathikere house on Tuesday night. Family members of Thimmaiah, 21, alleged he was constantly being harassment by police. Sandeep Patil, deputy commissioner of police (north), said the allegations will be looked into even though Thimmaiahs parents havent filed an official complaint yet. His name surfaced during investigation into one of the cases. Arun, who is suspected to be his associate, is in judicial custody, he said. Auto driver jumps in front of train, dies Autorickshaw driver Venugopal Naidu, 56, committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train on Wednesday. Police are yet to ascertain the reason.
