NOT FOR MATERIAL GAIN... Friends, I have been amazed at the congratulatory messages I have received from Kalabaris and non-Kalabaris on the good work I am doing via this group and how lucky I have been to attract goodies from aspirants. I am shocked and troubled. For one, this is not and will never be about money or material gain. Like any forward-going person, I saw a vacuum and did not engage in mundane criticism and complaints; instead, I took a step forward to DO SOMETHING POSITIVE. And, the attention we have attract, the criticisms and the encouraging comments have been really worth the trouble. It is more important for me to enjoy the benefits of this work, if at all, if we succeed and someone gives me opportunity to add more value. But to engage in this to attract any benefits - in cash or kind - before we even present a candidate and before the election, would turn this into a business venture. It is not! Friends, I am one of the children of late GWT William-Dodoiyi, Three things I always remember about my father are: placing community or family benefits over personal benefits even when the community or family benefits may not give one much in the long-run; anything done strictly for monetary gain will turn to sand in mouth in the long-run; and, working for long-term benefits rather short-term benefits makes one a great visionary in the end and will attract praises in posterity while short-term benefits leave one ruing what life would have been after such benefits would have been used up. Ask any of the aspirants or their agents, I have not approached any of them for material or cash award or assistance of any sort! None at all! WE SHOULD NOT MAKE MONEY AND WHAT MONEY CAN BUY OR DO MORE IMPORTANT THAN DECENT LIVELIHOOD AND GOOD NAME. MONEY IS GOOD - AND ANSWERETH ALL THINGS - BUT THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. I DONT WANT THE EVIL OF MONEY IN MY TENT. LET US WORK THE GOOD WORK, FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AND ATTAIN WHAT WE MUST. THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OTHER THING.
