NOT SO QUICKLY: MORE TO THE KETER SAGA THAN THE VIDEO AND THE MEDIA COULD BE TELLING US Onchonga Omwanza, Esq Keter is a man that came to us as the defender of our collective rights as a nation when he took by the horn mega-fraudsters who were trying to rob Kenyans in broad daylight. I am speaking of the railway scandal that rocked the nation some time back. Bold, abrasive and with some pinch of controversial streak, he exposed, condemned and fought the architects of that grand-corruption scheme with the bare knuckles of truth, justice and love for the people of Kenya. The status quo was shaken. In the Egerton graduate they found a foe whom, if an opportunity would arise, theyd readily crush. Not long after, this hardened youth joined ranks with his controverts. Enough has happened ever since. At the moment, he is caught in the eye of a raging, vicious storm that threatens to torpedo his political career. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers of all that is vile are having a field day, watching with sadistic fascination as the young man is tossed in the tide of unfair and myopic criticisms and condemnations. I want you to think of the following critically before hurling any further vitriol on Keter: 1. Keter engaged them for a whole one hour. The video is only six minutes long. What transpired in the other 54 minutes? 2. The officers did not speak or act in any manner that would be construed to be vile. It is what I term cherubic forbearance. That patience is only possible with angels. Thus, I find that the officers were acting in the context of a big scheme to mutilate, or annihilate altogether, the near-flawless character of HON.Alfred Kiptoo Keter-Mp Nandihills Constituency. 3. Kenya is a corrupt country. I can say with utmost confidence that bribery has, or regularly takes place in the Gilgil Weighbridge daily. If the officers who are now cast as protagonists were officers of integrity, then they would have helped the EACC apprehend those who try to compromise them. Could it be that Keter is saying the truth that the officers wanted a bribe? That is food for thought.
