NOTE 12 Psalms 63:11... The end of this study. 11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced. After my mom passed away we went through a mess. She had left a friend who was a lawyer in charge of the estate. This man from the beginning did everything opposite of what my mom requested. His 10,000 fee that he agreed upon for service went over 30,000. As we all watched the inheritance my mother left behind dwindle away, we sought help. Everywhere we looked we were told that there was nothing we could do legally. I sought God. God said this man would be removed. Much of my family said.. how? Its impossible. And I would say God is the God of the impossible. He said it and it will happen. It did. We had him legally removed two years later and how it all happened was impossible. I rejoiced in that. God said it.. it was done... and its something I dont forget. I cling to that. I swore by God.. like David in the above verse... and I gloried in Him... and the mouth of the liars (like the lawyer siphoning the money) was shut. David knew what all God had promised him. He could confidently say that he would rejoice in it. He knew he would be King... he knew that all that God promised would come to pass... and he knew that everyone that rose up against the Lords plans, their mouths would be shut. There is this proverb that the Lord has put on my heart many times when I have faced opposition... Many are the plans in a mans heart but its the Lords purpose that will prevail. It doesnt matter who is coming up against you, if the Lord has put a word in your heart.. its so. Its done. Rest in Him. Today as you ponder this last verse... Remember Davids example here... of... 1. Thirst for God... Seek Him, Need Him desperately. Thirst. They say that the most sincere prayers come during desperate times. (Psalm 63:1a) Must you have a desert experience before you thirst? Powerful prayers reveal their dependence on God? (Psalm 63:1b) How can we increase our spiritual sensitivies to God? 2. Bless God... Remember how David blessed Him. Great prayers result from an encounter with God (Psalm 63:2) Have you encountered God? How do you respond to God? Affectionate prayers respond to Gods love and goodness with adoration (Psalm 63:3-5) Do you think of Him with affection? Do you express that affection? 3. Bring to memory all that the Lord has done for you. Thank Him for those memories... Uplifting prayers ponder all of the Lords past works (Psalms 63:6-8) What has the Lord done in your life so far? 4. Stand in Him. Stand in faith. Trust the Lord for the future. Faith prayers enable us to face difficult situations with courage (Psalm 63:9-11) I heard this saying... Courage is not the absence of fear, but the capacity to act in the presence of fear. Faith is not the absence of doubt, but the courage to believe in spite of doubt. Trust is not the absence of qualms, but the capacity to go forward despite misgivings. How did David find faith to trust God? How can you handle threats and fears? What is the difference between fear and faith? Consider this... there are 2 types of worship. 1. Religious worship- done out of duty 2. Heart worship- Coming from personal experience and knowledge.. What kind of worship do you experience in your own life? What areas of prayers listed below are you weak in, and which areas are you strong in? How can you build on those weak areas? 1. Sincere prayer 2. Powerful prayer 3. Great prayer 4. Affectionate prayer 5. Uplifting prayer 6. Faith prayers I pray that these become a part of all of our lives... Listen to this last song... and let it speak to your heart... https://youtube/watch?v=KwsvqVmFV6Y Voice Of Truth Oh what I would do to have The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat Im in Onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is And Hes holding out his hand But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times Ive tried before and failed The waves they keep on telling me Time and time again, Boy, youll never win! Youll never win But the voice of truth tells me a different story And the voice of truth says, Do not be afraid! And the voice of truth says, This is for My glory Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth Oh what I would do to have The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant With just a Sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors Shaking in their armor Wishing theyd have had the strength to stand But the giants calling out my name and he laughs at me Reminding me of all the times Ive tried before and failed The giant keeps on telling me Time and time again, Boy, youll never win! Youll never win But the voice of truth tells me a different story And the voice of truth says, Do not be afraid! And the voice of truth says, This is for My glory Out of all the voices calling out to me (Calling out to me) I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth But the stone was just the right size To put the giant on the ground And the waves they dont seem so high From on top of them looking down I will soar with the wings of eagles When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus Singing over me But the voice of truth tells me a different story And the voice of truth says, Do not be afraid! And the voice of truth says, This is for My glory Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth I will listen and believe I will listen and believe the voice of truth I will listen and believe Because Jesus you are the voice of truth And I will listen to you You are...
