NOTE 6- Psalms 14:5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. When we look around and we see bad people prospering... sometimes we wonder why? Where are the consequences for what they do? Why arent they afraid? But fear comes on all people at some time or another. Look at a bully.. which is really what many of these people are... When you really understand the mind of a bully.. they are filled with fear... they are cowards. When a person does something horrific... they have fear, deep inside they are overwhelmed with dread. And usually it causes them to act out even more. Lets go deeper though.... God is in the generations. Hes with us. When people persecute us.. Hes there and that fear of the Lord will hit them at some point. Their were nations that attacked Israel; they were struck with terror at the sight of the Israelites, they knew that their God was with the Israelites. They feared him. Think of Jericho... Rahab told the spies how they had heard of their God... and she was afraid of what would come on her city. Haman when he would look on Mordecai at times... sometimes anger came on him, but there was a point when fear came on him. Generation in this sense.. means less about an era of people but more a group of people.. Psalms 24:6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah Psalms 73:15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,” I would have betrayed the generation of your children. Psalms 112:2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Gods special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
