NOTES FOR THE HOUR: (Morning 11/25/2013) SHOES: SAS Shoe Factory will be giving away new shoes at Baptist Church on Peoria St., Washington Monday, November 25th 8AM-5Pm ACCESS TO DISASTER AREA: The area will be closed to residence and volunteers Monday for debri removal and possibly Tuesday. However insurance adjusters will be allowed in from 8-5 on Monday and Tuesday. They must enter at cruger/Dallas Rd checkpoint or the Business 24/Eagle checkpoint. SHELTER: The Red Cross has opened a new shelter for Washington storm victims at the parsonage next to Grace Bible Church (1109 S. Main Street). The shelter at Crossroads Church has deactivated. IN-KIND DONATIONS: Most facilities are filled to capacity with material donations such as clothing. You can check our information page as we update this as we receive changes and corrections. Please check with recipient agency for donating to ensure there is an actual need. FIRE: No open burning. This is a potentially dangerous situation as fire could spread quickly in debris. VOLUNTEERS: AmeriCorps is handling volunteer coordination. Affected homeowners may call 309-698-5001 to register their need for volunteers. Top priority is debris clean up needs. Individual volunteers may call 309-698-5002 to register as a volunteer, and volunteer groups may call 309-698-5003 to register the group.
