NOTHING WRONG WITH MY APC CANDIDATURE - ORTOM Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, has assured that there was nothing wrong with his candidature. He spoke at the 2015 Praise Festival organized by the Brethren in Gboko. The event at which he was special guest of honor was held at the New Word of Life Church, Agedam in Gboko yesterday. ... The Brethren is a group of Christians who fellowshipped together with the former Minister of State, Industry, Trade, and Investment when he lived in Gboko in the early eighties. Chief Dr Ortom attributed his emergence to divine providence which had ensured that all things including the amendment of the APC constitution to admit and offer platforms to new comers as well as provide for consensus candidature and the delay in the party’s state congress worked in his favor. The former Minister stressed that all the relevant authorities including the APC National Working Committee ratified his choice by major stakeholders of the party in Benue State hence his name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which has acknowledged and displayed it. He said having satisfied all the necessary requirements and conditions with regard to the candidature as stipulated in the rules book he was not disturbed by any litigation even as he urged his supporters to disregard adverse news reports from some radio stations which he described as false and unfounded. The APC candidate maintained that God had prepared him for the current challenges in the state by taking him through various leadership positions at the local, state, and national levels adding that he also had the formula for job and wealth creation which he said the people of the state needed most. He promised that if given the mandate he would replicate his conquest of poverty at the personal level for the entire people of the state. Many gospel groups using various traditional musical instruments including New Jerusalem Singers and Obadiah Orkor performed at the festival.
