NOTICE Department of Economics of the College is going to organize Declamation Contest sponsored by Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai on the topics given below: I. Role of Youth in a Democracy II. Economics of Water Conservation III. Challenges of Urbanization IV. Economic Implications of Creating Smaller States V. Foreign Direct Investment – Issues and Challenges. The following are the details of the programme: Date: 23. Aug, 2014 Time: 11:30 A.M. Venue: Seminar Hall Rules & Regulation: • The Competition is open to under graduate students only. Participants may speak in English or Hindi language on ANY ONE of the topics. • Each participant will be allowed to speak for FIVE MINUTES. Each participant will state his/her subject before starting to speak. A warning bell will be sounded at end of the fourth minute followed by another at end of the fifth minute. • Participants are free to express any views they desire. They may refer to notes for quoting statistics, if any, but should not read from a written text. • Judges will select the three best speakers on the basis of Contents (60 Marks); Presentation and Elocution (40 Marks). The decision of judges will be final. • Prizes: First - Rs. 1,250/-; Second - Rs. 1000/-; Third - Rs –. 750/-. • Certificates will be given to the best five speakers. Interested students can give their names along with topics before the 22nd August, 2014 up to 1:00 P.M. in Department of Economics.
